Jeff Mazer has over 30 years of wide-ranging experience in financial management, strategic analysis, and capital markets transactions, as well as in corporate and business law. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and an attorney, Jeff possesses special expertise in situations requiring combined financial and legal skills.
Jeff has extensive experience in working with small and medium-sized companies in the technology industry and in the retail and consumer products sectors. At Bank of America Merrill Lynch in San Francisco, Jeff led a team that delivered treasury and cash management solutions for clients, building on expertise he first developed at Silicon Valley Bank.
Previously, Jeff founded and ran Acme Capital Advisors, a consulting firm focused on financial management and business strategy for technology and branded consumer products companies, especially in the food and outdoor recreation industries. The firm built on Jeff’s background in managing a portfolio of debt and venture capital for Allstate Insurance Company, as well as serving as its head of restructuring and workouts. Jeff also led Allstate’s M&A activities during a financial and strategic restructuring. Before moving to a business function, Jeff was a lawyer at Allstate responsible for investment, financial and regulatory matters.
Jeff received his early legal training at the nationally recognized law firms of Shearman and Sterling in New York, and Hogan Lovells and Akin Gump in Washington, DC.
When not spending time with his wife, Debra Vinikour, and Great Pyrenees, Wilco (the dog), Jeff enjoys running the trails of Washington and Forest Parks in Portland. He’s also an avid amateur photographer and cook.
